Rockeries

To really bring the natural world into your desired location, to make a feature of a steep bank or an awkward corner, what better way than to build a rockery of natural stone. There is a vast range of stones available to choose from. Green, pink or silver granite - brown York stone - cream Cotswold - grey limestone - white spar - rainbow quad rock - blue or plum slate - golden quartzite - red sandstone -marbles, whinstones and purbecks; the list of colours and textures goes on. From rough hewn rock to pebbles to cobbles right up to glacial boulders, rounded or angular, you really have a broad palette to express your individual creativity. It is the most natural form of masonry.

It would be a great environment for alpine plants, and for wildlife, nesting in the nooks and crags. To develop this habitat even more you could incorporate a waterfall or pond. What a perfect spot to sit and relax.
