Background

Drimalost Paving and Hard Landscaping was established in 1999. When founder Patrick Meehan, who learnt his trade as a paving mason at his fathers (Kevin Meehan) side, laying York stone and granite, flags stones and kerb stones around the city of London. Helping to win awards from the Cooperation of London on projects such as Leadenhall Market, The Tower of London and The London Wall, to name but a few. With fifteen years experience to his name Patrick wanted to express his creativity and use his acquired, ‘old school’ masons skills to work in the more natural surrounds of East Anglia.

The company name is taken from the ‘town land’ in Donegal, Ireland where his father was born. For generations, his ancestors worked with the local but world famous Drimkeelan White stone which was used to build castles, churches, municipal buildings and monuments from Dublin to London to New York and beyond. This includes some of the Houses of Parliament. So the heritage of stonecraft was always there, and Patrick, always passionate about stone, saw an opportunity enjoy his creativity and to give what he had to the profession.

We specialise in all disciplines of paving, from modern stone products to new or reclaimed natural stone. Our portfolio is extensive. You will see some of our work in private gardens, such as patios, walkways and drives, to public footpaths and parks. Uniquely, our gallery will show you some of our examples of our creative strength, in our natural stone features, monuments and standing stones. Setting a stage where the stone can really speak for itself. Our passion for stone and our attention to detail, at affordable prices, is our hallmark.

Ethos

At Drimalost Paving and Hard Landscaping we endeavour to offer something of our passion of stone, and commitment to ‘stone craft’ to the customer. This passion and commitment, as we have been told many times, (see testimonials page), shines through our delivery and standards of work. We believe the natural beauty of stone, it’s colours, it’s vibrations, it’s story, just needs to be allowed to sing out. Choosing the right stone, for the right environment and simply setting the right stage, has brought us careers that are healthy, happy and creatively very fulfilling. We have much to be grateful for. The odd soggy day and banged thumb pale into the insignificant. We enjoy meeting new people, starting new projects, and sharing new ideas with the customer. As much experience as we have, indeed over 25 years; there is always something new to learn from the creative stimulation of new friends, new sites, and fresh ways to look at the beauty of stone.

Add to this; the highest duty of care to the customer. We take extremely seriously our responsibility to your needs for; prompt and respectful communications - safety of site - delivery of programme to deadline - consideration of pollution to surrounding environs - finished job satisfaction of standards of workmanship.
