Kerbing and Edging

To structurally support areas of paving it is advisable to ‘edge’ a path or patio with kerbs and edging. You can choose to use the same stone as the paving material or alternatively, a contrasting coloured stone that will help ‘frame’ the work and add a structured feel.

When raised, edging will help to control soil migration and spread of unwanted vegetation onto a paved area. This will aid in a lower maintenance environment.

Mowing strips, a narrow paved strip that edges a lawn or at the foot of a wall can also assist in reduced garden maintenance by eliminating the need for strimming or clipping the edge of the lawn.
